Students should choose to major in Electrical Systems Technology because it provides essential skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, which are in high demand across industries like construction, manufacturing, and utilities. The field offers strong job security and competitive salaries due to the ongoing need for skilled electricians and technicians in both residential and commercial sectors.

 

To be successful in Electrical Systems Technology, students need strong problem-solving skills, hands-on aptitude, and a solid understanding of electrical principles and safety regulations. They must also be committed to continuous learning and possess good communication skills for effective collaboration in real-world projects.

 

A certificate will allow you to start working. If you want to advance in the field, we strongly recommend that you seek an associate degree or diploma.

 

If you are seeking a certificate, you can finish it in two semesters. You will need to dedicate time to complete two or three classes per semester. If you are seeking a diploma or an associate degree, you will be looking at completing a diploma within a year to a year and a half and an associate degree within two years to two years and a half depending on the load you can work into your daily schedule.
