Linda Lacewell

Ms. Lacewell comes to us from Booker T. Washington Elementary School- where she has been  for the past 15 years. Prior to working at Booker T. Washington, she worked at Bladen Community College for 9 years.  Mrs Lacewell’s 24 years of experience is a great benefit to Bladen Early College High School. Ms. Lacewell is the r bookkeeper, data manager and school secretary for BECHS.

Nicole Dove

Mrs. Dove has taught in Bladen County Schools for 26 years, where she coached softball, tennis, volleyball.  She received her Associate in General education from BCC and her BA in History from UNC-Wilmington. Most recently she was the social studies teacher at West Bladen.  Additionally she is a National Board Certified Teacher and a former college liaison with North Carolina New Schools. She also serves on the Professional Development Design team for BCS  We are also excited to have her knowledge and expertise at BECHS and are looking forward to her working directly with the students and teachers.

Chris Carroll

Mr. Carroll is coming to BECHS from Sampson County where he taught Social Studies at Hobbton High School and was the 2016 Baseball Coach of the Year.  Mr. Carroll has his BA in History and Education from Campbell University ane his Master of Divinity with languages also from Campbell University. He has twelve years experience as a pastor and four years teaching experience in the classroom.  He was the 2004 North Carolina Small Church Pastor of the Year. and he has served on numerous boards, led mission trips and has a passion for helping students. In 2012 he help to establish the Elizabeth Christian Academy in Elizabethtown, NC He will complete Master of Arts in History in May.  Mr. Carroll this year will teach World History Honors and Freshman Seminar.

Robin Donaldson

Dr. Donaldson is coming to BECHS by way of Fairmont High School where she taught Math 2 and 3.  Dr. Donaldson has a BA in English Literature form Wake Forest, Master Education in Secondary Mathematics from Francis Marion University and her Ed.D from Liberty University.  Dr. Donaldson taught most of her career at Green Sea Floyd High School in Green Sea South Carolina. There she taught English, French and math. She has been a part-time math instructor at Southeastern Community College.  She has won numerous educational awards and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescence Mathematics Additionally, she helps out her husband Pastor Ricky Donaldson at Northside Baptist in Bladenboro She brings over thirty years of education and experience to BECHS with a wealth of knowledge in math and other disciplines. This year she will be teaching Foundations of Math and Math 1.

Elizabeth Sanders

Mrs. Sanders comes to BECHS from Public Schools of Robeson County where she was the K-12 English Language Arts District Curriculum Supervisor and an English Instructor at Robeson Community College. Mrs.. Sanders has a Bachelor of Arts English from Washington and Jefferson College, a Master’s of Education Curriculum/Instruction from Lesley University and is pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy Educational Studies in Adult Learning from Lesley University. Mrs. Sanders is a National Board Certified Teacher,  published novelist, grant writer, and is a national presenter. In her spare time she and her husband work with the Youth af Faith Tabernacle where they take students on mission trips and other activities. She bring over twenty-two years of expertise in high school and remedial post secondary teaching. Dr. Sanders will be teaching English 1 and English 1 Honors as well as English 2 Honors this year.

Mary Mclean Smith

Mrs. Smith comes to BECHS by way of Harnett County from Harnett Central High School.  At Harnett Central High School she taught Biology, Physical and Earth Science. Prior to teaching in Harnett County, she taught at Saint. Pauls High School for 11 years where she taught Biology, Physical Science, and Chemistry.  Mrs. Smith is a graduate of East Bladen High School has a Bachelor of Arts Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has her Master of Arts in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. She has numerous credentials having been the Public Schools of Robeson County STEM Middle School Challenge Competition Coordinator, Master Teaching Coach for PLC and ILTs, as well as a mentor and the science representative for the School Improvement Team.  Mrs. Smith brings over fourteen year experience to the science discipline. This year she will teach Earth Environmental Honors and Physical Science.

Rodney W. Smith

Mr. Smith principal of the Bladen Early College High School (BECHS).  He comes to BECHS by way of West Bladen High School. At West Bladen he was the assistant principal for the past two years, responsible for 9th and 10th graders, administrator over athletics, and the building level test coordinator.  Prior to working in Bladen County, he was an assistant principal in Rowan-Salisbury School System for 11 years. During this time he was instrumental in turning around schools that were low performing. He has the distinction of the only administrator of the alternative school  past and present to be selected by his peers as assistant principal of the year for the Rowan-County School System. Before coming to work in Rowan County, he spent the better part of his teaching career in Davidson County, where he was a special education teacher, coach, athletic director, mentor to at-risk students and a guidance counselor at the middle and high school levels.   As a counselor he was assigned to work on the Superintendent’s Dropout Task Force Committee, senior counselor responsible for scholarships and writing recommendations for students who applied to institutes of higher learning, an overseer for federal programs and a coach. Mr. Smith has an undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree from Campbell University, Master of Science Degree in Counseling from NC A&T University and a Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner- Webb University.  He brings over 29 years of experience of having taught, counseled, and worked with exceptional children’s programs, being an assistant principal of alternative education, collaborated and consulted with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to provide direction along with guidance to low performing/turn-around schools. Additionally Mr. Smith continues to counsel and mentor at-risk students.
