This is an annual scholarship of $500 to be given to a graduating senior at each high school. The Elizabethtown Rotary Club is a voluntary organization made up of business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives.
Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. The motto of Rotary is “Service Above Self”.
With this in mind, the Elizabethtown Rotary Club has established this annual scholarship of $500 to be given to a graduating senior who meets the following criteria:
  • Applicant must submit a scholarship application with one letter of recommendation that clearly supports their strength of character, contributions to the community, and leadership qualities.
  • Applicant must be a United States citizen and a resident of Bladen County.
  • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in good academic standing with a 3.0 – 4.0 GPA.
  • Applicant must submit a copy of their high school transcript.
  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full time student with a a minimum of twelve semester hours.
  • Applicant must be a motivated, capable learner who has a demonstrated economic need.
  • Applicant must be enrolled for the duration of the scholarship.
  • Applicant must submit an essay stating how they believe that this scholarship will help them to attain their educational goal.
