We are a team of professionals to help you!
The Applied Science Division at Bladen Community College provides career-focused education that prepares students for immediate employment, career advancement, and continued academic opportunities. The division offers a variety of workforce-oriented programs that combine practical, hands-on training with classroom instruction to develop the technical knowledge and professional skills required in today’s competitive job market.
Programs within the division include skilled trades, culinary, transportation, and business-related fields, providing students with pathways into high-demand industries. Trade and technical programs emphasize applied learning in laboratory and shop environments that mirror real-world workplaces, allowing students to gain practical experience with industry-standard tools, equipment, and techniques. The Culinary program provides students with professional kitchen training in food preparation, safety and sanitation, menu development, and hospitality operations, preparing graduates for careers in restaurants, catering, hospitality, and food service management.
The division also offers business programs that equip students with foundational knowledge in management, entrepreneurship, accounting, marketing, medical office administration, public administration and organizational leadership. These programs are designed to prepare students for careers in business and industry or to provide a strong foundation for those who plan to continue their education in business-related fields.
The Applied Science Division works closely with regional employers and industry partners to ensure programs remain aligned with workforce needs. Through hands-on instruction, industry-recognized certifications, internships, and experiential learning opportunities, the division is committed to preparing graduates who are skilled, adaptable, and ready to contribute to the economic growth and workforce needs of the community.
