Recruiting Campaign for Summer

Bladen Community College has launched its summer recruiting campaign and that means BCC counselors will be at locations throughout the county over the next few weeks talking with prospective students and family members about what the college has to offer. Early fall registration is scheduled for July 16 and 17 and the final registration period for the fall semester is scheduled for August 11 and 12. Counselor Anthony Thomas says the recruiting team's primary purpose in going out into the community is to not only answer questions about BCC, but also to impress upon prospective students the importance of making application for the fall semester as soon as possible.

Clarkton Lions establish BCC scholarship

The Clarkton Lions Club members have established an endowed scholarship at Bladen Community College to honor the memory of one of their longtime members, Harold Ingram. The Lions presented the scholarship to BCC President Dr. William Findt and BCC Foundation Director Linda Burney at a ceremony in Clarkton on June 10. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to Bladen County students attending BCC. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated economic hardship and exhausted other avenues of assistance.
